About JDMIS FAQ
Both new students considering admission into the JDMIS Diploma Programmes and participants interested in attending a Certificate course, often have very similar questions. The JDMIS is a school founded in 2007. It has grown out of the previous professional training organizations started by the JDMIS Dean Mrs. Tanja Sadow and has been operating in Singapore since 1995. Since then, JDMIS has trained over five thousand graduates in Singapore and the World.
The JDMIS facilities consist of four dedicated classrooms/makerspaces, a large student lounge/resource area, administrative facilities and a specialized retail area for students to practice their merchandising and sell their pieces. All are located in a spacious newly renovated space at 111 Middle Road #01-03/04 National Design Centre Singapore 188969
In an individual class you will have at least 5 classmates depending on the type of course and method of presentation. For any skills based courses, the school maintains a student-to-teacher ratio of 12:1 or better. The school's student workshop and seven classrooms have a total capacity of 60.
Mrs. Tanja Sadow, Dean of the JDMIS will be supervising your classes and providing key instruction. Her team of expert jewellery instructors will be working with students throughout the courses to ensure everyone understands and successfully completes the project work.

This was the JDMIS practice from 2007 to 2026 under the previous regulator. In 2026 SWDA now does not support this pathway in private education. If you have taken a JDMIS certificate course that is analogous to a specific diploma module prior to 10 September 2026, you will have been contacted by email and mobile device to opt into a protected cohort that may continue to receive credits for their modules, provided you pass the requisite module exam or exams, and submit the required self-study project for for review by the faculty department head.
After September 10 2026 - you will be required to enter into a formal Diploma Contract for an full-duration course without credits or recognition of prior learning as per explicit guidance from SWDA. Module payments remain flexible - as per JDMIS's originally intended flexible policies, and students are free to withdraw before completing their diploma without being liable for course fees (excepting registration fees) for course modules that have not yet started.

Our full certificate courses cost between SGD 1,500 and SGD 2,800 (including GST). There are no registration fees and courses include all tools and materials you will need to complete the course work and continue working from home. There are no hidden costs. No, we have very small class sizes to ensure everyone has proper attention and certificate course registration is on a first-come first served basis. The only way to secure a seat in class is to pay a deposit amount - you then pay the balance of your course fees on the first day of class. We accept many payment methods, if you want to pay over the phone the head office can accept Visa & Mastercard. If you visit the office, they can take any credit card, or Singapore dollar cheque. If you use internet banking, we also accept local bank MAPS transfers and international wire transfers. We also offer online payment via a variety of payment methods including PayNow, Credit Card, Grap Pay, Atome, ShopbackPay, Shoppee Pay and others.

Our diplomas cost between SGD 7,870 to SGD 15,820, inclusive of GST, registration and application fees. Our pricing policy is such that we include all tools and materials you will need to complete your coursework.
Your only additional costs are for materials you intend to use in your self-study or personal projects. Furthermore, the tools you receive as part of your course are yours to keep - our students leave our diploma courses with the skills and equipment they need to create unique and high quality jewellery.

Foreign students are required to may their tuition payments to a third-party escrow service provider authorized by the Consumer Association of Singapore. This escrow payment is a requirement for the issuance of Student Passes by the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and provides additional protection for students. Complete details of the escrow payment process are provided upon your admission to the JDMIS together with your letter of acceptance.
For Singaporean students or permanent residents, JDMIS recommends TCC, a local credit union that provides very competitive educational loans. If you would like more information on this we can email you their details or ask one of their credit consultants to call you. Alternatively you can approach your bank and ask them about educational loan programs. They will typically disburse payment upon completion of a credit check and receipt of your letter of offer from the JDMIS; this process can take up to 3-4 weeks so be sure to apply early.
