A safe and stable multicultural and cosmopolitan city-state in Southeast Asia, Singapore is a regional hub for arts and commerce. Not just the efficient home of multi-national corporations, tropical Singapore is nicknamed 'The City in a Garden'. Bustling shopping areas such as Orchard Road combine with places like Little India, Chinatown and Arab St. to give visitors and residents ever-changing urban experiences. Artistic inspiration of all types can be found in the city's many museums and galleries as well as the internationally renowned Esplanade Arts Center.
The MRT train service, along with buses and taxis make getting around easy and Changi Airport is consistently voted be one of the world's best. With the city's four official languages-English, Malay, Tamil and Mandarin and a cosmopolitan outlook, non-Singaporeans experience a minimum of culture shock.
For most passport holders, entry into Singapore is very straightforward. You can find out more about visa requirements at the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority Website Visit the ICA Website
If you do not require a visa and enter by air, it is common for you to be issued a 30 day visitor pass. At the conclusion of this pass you can either request a 30 day extension via the ICA e-Extend Online Website or exit Singapore. We have timed the course schedules with a convenient 5 day break to take place in between sessions so that visitors wishing to exit Singapore and then return after the short holiday can do so on a single visit pass. We also offer optional unique and exclusive overseas industry expeditions to relevant locations near to Singapore that are both educational and enjoyable - and perfectly align with JDMIS breaks between modules.
Singapore is an expensive city to say in, but is fortunately very safe and very easy to get around. JDMIS is located in a very convenient part of town, making it easy to reach from any part of the island.
For long-term stays, we recommend checking out sites like AirBNB where many serviced apartments and private residences are offered at reasonable rates. You should expect to pay between S$2500 and S$5000 per month for a private apartment, or between $1000 and $3500 for a private room. Please compare carefully as some residences may incur additional local taxes if commercially managed.
