Today, with the right tools and guidance, you can engrave beautiful patterns onto glass to make personalised gifts, jewellery and objects d�art!
This workshop is a basic introduction to a modern variation on glass engraving. Using small hand held drills you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of this craft and add a little something of your own to this rich tradition as you create a series of engraved items with traditional or modern patterns or your own personal theme.

During this unusual half day introductory workshop, join JDMIS instructor Dominic Fond�, master glass artist and Associate Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers and discover how much fun drill engraving can be!
From safety precautions and tips on how to control the drill, to creating detailed designs on glass surfaces, this class will leave you with the skills to explore new ways of decorating a drinking glass, a plate or in fact any glass surface.
For safety reasons this workshop is only open to English speaking individuals of at least 14 years of age. Patience and a steady hand will come in useful but you do not need an arts background! At the end of the session you should have a glass plate, pair of clear glasses or a pair of coloured glass goblets engraved with your own images or message.
Materials are included and students borrow drill engraver and diamondtipped drill bit for the duration of the class.
